Jason's new job

Well we survived day one of Jason's job and I don't like it. I watched the clock all last night so I'm exhausted today so maybe I'll fall asleep really fast tonight. Jason said he likes it and he was fine all last night. He got home and went straight to bed and is still there. I guess he's going to miss lunch, still not sure how all this works yet.
Katie's a little messed up because she can't understand why he's here and in bed.

Busy weekend!

Today the whole family was up at 7:00 for no apparent reason. So now what do we fill our time with? We got up and the fish tank was make a takeoff kind of sound so now we're headed to the pet store- which to my girls- is the Zoo.

Then at 3:00 Brooke and I are walking to another friend's house to a jewelry party (I'm in heaven). Then we are doing our famous grilling for dinner and then off to a football party. I get to talk to people during the game Yay!!

On Sunday the girls are having practice for jazzercise for the parade next weekend. They are doing 2 dances during the parade and I'm also in the parade. I'm alittle worried about myself being in the parade. We are doing 2 songs also. I hope I don't make a fool of myself!
Then after the practice we are heading to lifegroup for dinner.

On a sad note (for me at least) Jason starts his new job on Monday. It means new hours and I'm not too happy about it then it also means he's driving the open road in a Big Rig (feeders- is the technical word). So we need alots of prayer!

Karissa is the one of the new Safety Patrol Officers at her school and she is so proud. She was so excited when she got picked. This job has helped her self esteem so much!

Oh and your eyes aren't playing tricks on you- she got her hair cut to her shoulders and she loves her new style and I love the fact that she can do her own hair. We have our struggles every morning because of her hair. Now the fight around the house is that Katie wants short hair!

Katie's first progress report!

Katie received her first progress report on friday. She is doing so well and she loves school! They tested her and found out that she can identify all of her letters (which I knew) but she is ahead of the game because she only had to be able to identify 4 of the letters.

She talks all the time and tells me that she plays with Connor and Matthew and Paley. It's so neat to see her so excited.
She is also going to her class all by herself and I am to stay in the car by her command.

She is still loving ballet and playing dress-up.

On Friday Karissa had one of her bestfriends over, Jen. They are both really quiet so I didn't really see them- now don't get me wrong usually school and activities get the quiet Karissa- I get the loud one. So it was nice to see her play with someone her age. Jen stayed at our house until 9:00 and then they went to Jen's house to spend the night.
Jen's dad dropped her off and he said he never heard a word from them! I'm so glad she was well behaved! I'm so proud of her and Katie!

Poem 1st day of school

I found this poem at Lasting Legacy (scrapbook store)

1st day of school

We went to school today,
My little girl and I.

I worried all through breakfast,
afraid that she might cry.

I watched her walk away
with pride and I was quite alone,

The tears I thought, would surely be hers,
are indeed my own!

Today we went to Louisville to visit Kelly and her new house. I know Kelly because she is my neighbor's (Heather) sister. I love my court that we live on and my neighbors. Heather has become a great friend and we talk on the phone all day long. If you can't find me at home- go up the street and you can bet that I'm at her house.

It was nice going for the day with my family to visit somewhere new.
Heather is really blessed because shortly after she moved here her sister followed her from New York and now her parents are moving here from New Jersey. I would love for my family to move here. My sister and I talk about it all the time, but her husband would never move from his home. My sister and I are very close and it would be great to have a sister here. My girls love their cousins and Emily looks up to Karissa.

On another note- Dennis and Mary went to Karissa's school to eat lunch and they sat with her and her best friend, Jen. They said that they are both two peas in a pod because they hardly talked and they picked at their food. Mary is convinced that they have their own language. They have been in each others' class since 3rd grade and I have never heard them have a conversation. The other day Karissa said that during recess they walked around and talked- so I asked what did you talk about, she replied, I don't know.
She is so like Jason- they don't talk alot or have details. Katie on the other hand talks all the time and at times I wish for peace and quiet.

What cuties!

I have a ton of favorite pictures of the girls, but this is my newest one.
It was taken by Dennis while we were waiting for a table at the AppleBarn in Gatlinburg.

Preschool

Preschool

Well Katie made it to school or should I say I did it. She loved it and she didn't cry which helped out so much. She was so excited to go to school. Karissa was the opposite- they had to pry her off me and that is what I feared for Katie. Jason had to take the day off to get a physical so he went with us and after we dropped her off- I was lost. What do you do every other day for 4 hours? We went out for breakfast at McDonald's.

I Couldn't wait to pick her up and see how her day went. She asked me when will she go back so I told her Wed and she was upset that it wasn't the next day. Wow- night and day from Karissa- she cried going into 5th grade.

Tomorrow when I take her to school I'm going to go ahead and go to jazzercise. That should take up most of my time.

Our Gatlinburg trip!

We went to Gatlinburg with Jason's parents and Joe and Krista. We had a great time! We went horseback riding which I am now convinced that I am no longer 18 and it's not so much fun anymore. I use to horseback ride almost every weekend at my best friends house so I thought I would still love it-Nope! It was so funny with everyone though.

On August 30th we went on a tour of Waveland. After driving by it for 12 years we decided to see what it was about. Karissa is starting to get into history and I'm excited because I was a history buff.
