Katie's Halloween Party

Don't take my picture while I'm eating!!

She waved the whole time during her little parade. She loves to be the center of attention. Jason was able to go with us which was nice but I felt bad for him because he only had 5 hours of sleep and then had to go to work after the party. Next week he's on call. I hope it's a better schedule.

Thursday, October 30, 2008

Well this week has been hard and it's only Thursday. Jason's hours this week are horrible. He leaves the house at 12:00 in the afternoon and of course I have to leave the house at 8:30 so Katie and I say our goodbyes then he gets home at 2:30 in the morning. Poor Karissa she only gets to look at him sleep. On Tuesday Charlie Brown came on and she goes daddy always watches this with me and so she had to resign herself to only having me.

He has already worked 11 hours overtime and he hasn't worked today yet. I can't wait til he gets his next assignment, I only pray it has better hours then this week. We find out Friday afternoon when he starts work next week.

On a better note he has off the day after Thanksgiving for the first time in 9 years so he'll get to shop with me!!!! Plus he also gets Christmas Eve and New Years Eve off this year- YAY!!!

Fall Fantasy

My girls were cheerleaders for Fall Fantasy and they are going to wear them for Halloween too.
Jason's parents were in PA and found the Steelers outfit. Their costumes were low key this year and that's ok to me!
Fall Fantasy is wild and crazy and very crowded. This is the last year for it for Karissa. She'll move up to 6th grade next year. Fall Fantasy is where the teachers dress up and hand out candy then there are carnival games too.
This will be the first year Jason will miss Halloween. Every year he's late, but he always makes it before it's over. I'll have to walk it with the girls alone this year. YUK.

The promised pictures finally!!

Jason's crazy job

Well after finding out that Jason got bumped off his route after only 3 weeks we survived this week. Everyday this week he worked different hours and drove to different states. We have hardly seen him and the girls and myself are not happy. They would call him everyday an hour before he would have to be at work and he would have to leave. So yesterday for example they called him and he had to be at work at 2 in the afternoon and then he got home at 1:00 in the morning. The uncertainty of it all is nerve racking.

At least from now on it will only change from week to week. He finds out today where and when he drives for the week. Ahh the life of a UPS wife-there should be a support group.

Portrait Innovations and the girls

I took the girls to get their pictures taken at Portrait Innovations- it's a great place to take the kids because there isn't a sitting fee and the package is 9.95 and you get a ton of pictures and you get them in 20 mins. Of course I always pay a little more because I get more than the package. I love that they take up to 150 pictures and you get to choose which ones you like -not like Wal-mart where it's the first one you take. Of course I haven't been back to Wal-mart since Karissa was 4 so they may have changed things.

I had the girls dressed in cream velour pants and Karissa had a sparkly silver top and Katie had a pink sparkly top. They looked so cute. Katie loves having her pictures taken. She acts like she modeling in every pose.
I will post some of their pictures later.

We're going to have a yard sale at Jason's parents house on Fri and Sat so that will keep me busy and then on Friday night we were going to a PJ party at our church and then Sat night the girls are going to a Halloween party at our old neighbor's house. They are going to have a haunted house and Karissa is excited.

Pumpkin patch and park

We went to the pumpkin patch and it was so over priced that we just got pictures and then we took them to a park. They had a blast at the park.
It's better to go on a field trip to a pumpkin patch then to go as a family because you get better deals. We use to go to Double Stink and it was a great pumpkin patch but the owners sold the land so it gone now and we haven't found a new one we like yet.
Update on Jason's job- he loves it and we survived one week so far. We found out that on Saturdays he gets off earlier and so he takes a nap and then is up for the day so that he can go to sleep at night like normal. Karissa has been telling everyone that she loves his new schedule because she sees him more. We were kind of worried about her because she doesn't deal with change very well and before he got the job we talked to her and she cried.
The nice thing is that he is around more and he can help me out. Yesterday he took Karissa to piano. He will also be around for the school programs where as before he missed just about everything. It has it's pros and cons, but I'm trying not to focus on the cons.

This is what you get when you're four, in preschool and want to cut out your naps.
Poor Katie, she just runs until she can't do it anymore.
We were in a Jessamine parade on Oct 4th. We danced with other Jazzercise ladies and kids. I was sore and tired after the parade. It is hard dancing and walking at the same time.

The girls did a great job. After it was over Karissa goes, "I'm impressed that Katie made it the whole way." I was too, I had visions of me carrying her through half of the parade.
