Karissa's teeth

I am so tired of Karissa's teeth issues. Every tooth that is loose is drama. She quits eating when it's really lose which the longest time without food has been 2 days. Then when she tries to pull it she cries and won't let anyone help her. Right now she is crying in the bathroom because the tooth is hanging by a root and she says it hurts. I've offered for her to go to a neighbor' house to get it out and she freaked. She has a tooth pheobia and she's the one who needs the most work done. She is missing 6 adult teeth which 2 of them are wisdom teeth so that's no big deal. She's missing 2 of her 12 year molers on the bottom and then she's missing her 2 top incisors. Which with those means she will have to fake teeth on a retainer called a flipper until she is 18 then she will get implants. I feel so bad for her. When she loses her last incisor she will get a expander and then the fake teeth and 4 braces for now. I feel really bad for her because I never had braces so I don't know what she will be going through.

I just wish that she won't be so upset over going to the dentist. I hope she grows out of it and soon because she is upsetting me and I'm not sure how much I can take. Jason is always gone for the drama- LUCKY. I pray that Katie will not be like this.

Karissa's big basketball game

Karissa was fouled in the game by a big girl I must add and she got to shoot 2 free throws and she made the first one. We are so proud of her. You could see that throughout the game the girl guarding her was playing unfair and Karissa started to get mad and reacted by playing harder. It was great to see her be aggressive because alot of times she is so passive that I worry about her getting taken advantage of. I love watching her play even though I can't stand to watch basketball.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

I love Valentine's Day and always have. I get so excited about it. The first year we were married was really the first year Jason and I got to celebrate it together so I was so excited to go out with him that night after work. Well let's just say because I was not from here I didn't realise that in order to get into a restaurant you had to wait for 2 hours and we ended up at a Chinese buffet with only a 45 min wait. My Valentine's Day was not what I envisioned. So now after 11 years I am still doing the same dinner menu of Shrimp, scallops, baked potatoes and corn. We have a candle light dinner with rose petals on the table. We have now added to the table our girls. They love it- they have heart shaped plates they use and every year Jason gets them flowers too. Katie this year started asking about her flowers in Dec. so she will be so happy when she gets them.

I get the girls small gifts and a box of candy too. Last year as we were sitting at the table with candles flickering and watching the glow of the girls faces, Karissa goes this is so romantic. She has no idea what that word means but in my head I'm going yeah so romantic!! I wouldn't trade this tradition for anything. I can always go out with Jason another night but I'm hoping we set the bar high for their future husbands.

I remember my mom giving me and Chanda gifts and showering us with extra love that it was ok if we didn't have a boyfriend at the time. I want the girls to just be comfortable with themselves, boys don't make them the person- God and we do.

So I hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day and we love you all!

I will post pictures of our girls and the table later.

Being thankful!

I am so thankful that Jason was off for 2 weeks for vacation because during one of the weeks we had the ice storm and I didn't have to worry about him driving in it and then this week he has been in the building working and today we had some really bad storms. The winds were so bad that at mile marker 91in Richmond a tractor trailer was blown over. It's funny how it worked out that he hasn't had to drive in all this mess. God knows what he is doing even though we both wanted him to be driving and not working in the building.
