What's happening in our world

Karissa is really doing great in 9th grade.  It was a smooth transition going from middle school to high school.   She gets up early and before school starts she goes into Krista's kindergarten class and helps out for about an hour and a half then walks over to JCTC for her first class.  She wants to be a teacher so this is a great opportunity for her to get a glimpse of what its like.  Krista puts her to work and the prinicipal was very impressed with Karissa.
   She's stopped playing the piano which was sad for me because she's been playing it since she was 5.  She is going to start volleyball at KBA on Oct 14th so she can improve her skills for when she tries out for the high school volleyball team next year.

Katie is in 3rd and doing really good too.  She is our social butterfly so when she gets home I get to hear every detail about her day....every detail! After taking ballet since was 3 she has decided to take a break this term.  She is now in a hip hop class and loves it. 

Kendall is still at home with me and I babysit a friend's little girl half day and Kendall and Kami love being together. 

Jason is still working the same hours and now he is on a safety board and loves it.  It means more hours but he doesn't mind.  He has started building a fence for our backyard and one side is up!  He's going to have it finished within the next 2 weekends.  He comes home on Saturday mornings after working all night long and gets working on the fence, not sure how he does it!!

Hunting season is approaching and Karissa wants to go hunting with her dad and pawpaw.  She and pawpaw took the hunters saftey class back in Aug and she passed, she was very excited.  Me..not so much!

Kendall turns 3

We had a pool party for Kendall's 3rd birthday and we had several friends and family show up.  She is so busy that its really difficult to get pictures of her and anytime the sun is out she closes

 the same eye.

Her best friend got her princess dolls that looked like them and all that night Kendall kept talking about baby "Kami" and baby "Kendall"!

Her middle school years have come and gone.  I remember crying and fretting about her going into middle school and now high school is around the corner.  She had a great experience in middle school and she liked all of her teachers too.

Katie did great at her ballet recital.  My favorite dance that she did was tap and they danced to Rhythm is a dancer.  She loves being on stage and it shows!!

Can't believe she's 14!

I don't feel old enough to have a 14 year old!! She will start high school in Aug and I am sad because I remember my high school years just flying by!

I remember when she was born and Jason and I were one of first of our friends to have kids and being scared and not knowing what we were doing.  Kind of like how I feel right now with a soon to be high schooler! It seems like it was just yesterday that I was taking her to preschool and kindergarten and how I had that sick feeling in my stomach when I left her at school and cried when I got to the car.  I know that feeling will be back on the first day of school!

She will start conditioning for the volleyball team next Monday and tryouts are in July.  She is so excited!! In June she will also start in the high school group at church.  We are so blessed that she has an awesome group leader who is a perfect role model for her and she will be moving up with Karissa and her friends.  I remember when she started the middle school group and how anxious I was for her and that new phase in her life.  She did great and I know she will be fine in high school, its the transition that I worry about.  I bet in 4 years I will have this same post as she moves into the college phase of her life!  Oh help me!!

No Braces!!

Karissa got her braces off on Jan 30.  She was so excited that she hardly slept the night before.  She now has retainers to wear which is the wire you see going across her top teeth.  She also has a clear retainer that she can wear.  The reason for this type of wire is because she was born without the two teeth that are on each side of her two front teeth.  When she turns 18 she will have to have two implants.  Right now she has to wear retainers with fake teeth on them.
