Another Dr's apt

I had another Dr's apt yesterday and still no change in blood pressure and anything else that would say I'm ready to have this baby. I have to go back on Tuesday and then Tuesday night go to the hospital and Wed bright and early they are going to induce me. Mary is going to watch the kids for me and we're hoping Jason will be off work to take me to the hospital Tuesday night if not Mary will be with me.
I'm missing Karissa's field day on Wed. Such a busy time for my family.

I pray everything will go smoothly because he is still saying something about a c-section.

Baby next week

Well Dr. Looff thought that I would be ready to go tomorrow to have the baby but he said that if we went tomorrow he might as well sign the c-section paper and have the baby in the NICU for a few days so he decided that I'll come back on Friday to check my blood pressure again. Then on Tuesday I would have another Dr's apt and go to the hospital that night and they would start inducing on Wed morning. With all this said it means that I will miss Karissa's 5th grade graduation. I have cried all day and we aren't going to tell her until after Tuesday because in my heart I would love for a miracle where he tells us we can wait until Thursday night.

I've heard that her graduation is a big deal- I was praying that it wouldn't be. I would do anything for my kids and missing this is killing me. She is our first born and I don't want to miss this milestone. I try to do it all and this time I have no control. Jason was trying to make me feel better by saying it's no big deal, but what I found out was that he didn't have a 5th grade graduation in Jamaica so he had no idea what to expect. I'm hoping he'll be able to go and I know Mary will be there (Dennis will be in Jamaica at that time). Mary is going to videotape it, but it won't be the same.

Bed rest some more

Well I'm still on bed rest.

Yesterday Jason took Katie to breakfast and then to Walmart to get groceries. He took Karissa last Sat so it was only fair to take Katie this time. He said that Katie is an old people magnet. Every old person came up to talk to her!
She helped him get groceries and he had to call me several times because she kept telling him that we were out of certain foods- I guess she would know considering she is with me every day.

I did cook Karissa and I eggs for breakfast and then because I haven't been able to clean or get my friend's cleaning lady here (thank you- mom when I do get to use her) I asked Karissa to mop. She mopped all of our floors which is a huge job in itself. I kept asking her if she needed my help and she answered No every time. I paid her and she liked doing it!

Recently we got backyard furniture from Jason's grandfather. His grandmother had bought it and they had never used it so he gave it to us. Yesterday Jason grilled steaks and I made baked potatoes and corn on the cob (thank you, Mary!!) and we ate on the patio. It was so nice. We had been wanting a table and chairs since we moved in but never got around to buying any. We then put the girls to bed and we went back outside and sat in the chairs and just talked. No T.V., no girls just us. The girls always join into our conversations after we put them to bed because they can hear everything we say because of the way our house is set up and we never get any privacy. So last night was nice.

We made plans out to buy pavers and extend our patio so we can get some of the stuff off of our patio such as the sandbox, slide, deck box, hammock and grill. We also want to save for a fence!!

I go back to the Dr on Tuesday and this time Jason can go with me because he doesn't have to be at work until 11:30 a.m. I hope they don't decide to put me in the hospital until Thursday.

Southern Bell or going to the Derby - you decide.

Katie's graduation

Katie had preschool graduation today. I cried when they played the graduation march. I can't believe she will start kindergarten this fall. She is really going to miss her teachers Mrs. Kimberly and Mrs. Jean- they were a true blessing to our family. I can't say enough great things about Little Elks. Katie learned more than Karissa ever did at LCA.

Our baby is 5 today!

It is so hard to believe that Katie is 5 today. Jason just called her to wish her happy birthday and he asked her if she felt different and she said yes that she had grown! He also asked her what she planned on doing today and she said I'm going to Bounce U. He asked where she came up with that and she said she did. I hate to disappoint her, but I'm still on bedrest so we're just going to go get ice cream from Brusters tonight! I hate that we celebrated it on Sat, but I was afraid I was going to be in the hospital.

Katie loves to dance, sing, play with her baby dolls and her Leapster. She loves the T.V. and movies, right now her favorite is Scooby Doo 2. She loves punch buggies and can see one miles away and has informed us that when she gets big she will have one and we have to wave at her. She also loves Twaylor Swift (how she pronounces her name) which is funny because I really don't listen to country!

She loves to be on stage and loves to talk to people. She loves to drive our cats nuts too- she is the only one that can get Tigger to smack her.

I can't believe she will start kindergarten in Aug. Time has flown and I'm not ready to let her go.

She has her preschool graduation on Friday which I'm glad to say I'll be able to go too.
We love you so much Katie- Happy Birthday and yes you're finally 5.

Another Dr's apt

Well today Mary, Jason's mom, picked me up and we headed to the Dr's again. I had my bag packed just in case. My blood pressure was pretty much the same and the baby is fine and weighing 6 1/2 lbs. He wants to see me again on Thursday, but I'm thinking I won't be induced because he is going out of town this weekend. He said that she is still high and not in position so if I get induced it would be a long process. Which I know what that is like when they induced me with Karissa. I went in Wed morning and didn't have her until Thursday night at 10:30.
Now I'm worried about getting to go to Karissa's 5th grade graduation which is on June 4th. I don't want to be in the hospital and miss it. I'm not sure what the Dr has in mind for next week.

I am still on bedrest and will miss church again this week and I hate not being in touch with the outside world. Jason will have to get groceries again this Sat and I hope he takes Katie to breakfast and shopping. He took Karissa last Sat and they left at 9:30 and got home at 12:00. He's out of practice on the shopping!

Katie's ballet recital

Katie had her one of her ballet recitals tonight. My friend, Pam picked her up and took her. She was so excited, she loves to perform. My friends Pam and Brandy said that her class did the best! Katie and Brayden had a great time with each other. This is the first year that I bought a ticket so I can see the entire show instead of being backstage and now I'm on bedrest. Tomorrow she has another show at 1:00 and I'm going to show up just for her class and then go home. Tomorrow we are also going to celebrate her birthday (family) just in class I'm in the hospital on her birthday, which I'm praying I'm not.

Dr's apt

Well I'm still on bedrest and I can't go to Katie's ballet recital or church. The baby is fine but my blood pressure is still climbing. He wants me to come back on Tuesday and have an ultrasound. The one thing I need to get past is that Katie's birthday is May 20th. I don't want them to have the same birthday. So now I pray that he won't induce me around her birthday.

I want to see her ballet recital. She looks so cute in her costume and I want to see her dance.
It was not the news I wanted to hear. Plus the medicine that I am on is giving me headaches all day so it's been fun.

Another Dr's apt

I go to the Dr's again today at 3:30. I'm thinking that it's probably a good idea to pack my bags considering I haven't done it yet. I'm not thinking that they will put me in the hospital today I just want to be prepared. When I had Karissa I had to call Mary from the hospital and tell her over the phone what all I needed because I was only 35 weeks. She reminded me of that on Monday-it was stressful.
I have been laying around alot, but it is so hard to do with children. Katie has the run of the house and I keep yelling to see if she is ok. Monday she came down with marks on her face and said that she picked up Tigger and he bit her face. Well one- she deserved it because she knows he hates to be picked up, I can hardly pick him up. So off she went for her ballet pictures with her little face a mess. I'm hoping with the make-up you can't see it!!

Karissa got her new furniture yesterday, thank you MOM! Her room looks so grown up now. Katie spent all day in it because in order to get the baby's room ready we moved the T.V. in Karissa's room. They can only watch movies in there and it has worked out well so far. If it gets to be a problem I can wheel it out just as fast as I wheeled it in. Karissa is not my T.V. girl so she's not going to have problems. She would rather be outside and I have a hard time getting her back in the house. Yesterday she rode her scooter all afternoon after school.

I hope to get a good report today at the Dr's so I will keep everyone posted.

Bedrest are you kidding me!

I've been put on bedrest and this week is not a good week. Mary is going to take Karissa to her piano practice then come back and take Katie to get her ballet pictures taken today. Katie also has rehearsal on Thursday then Friday and Sat is the recital. I want to see it! I go back to the Dr on Wed to see how I am doing.

I also want to get past Katie's birthday and also her preschool graduation. He did say he wants to get me to 37 weeks so I pray that I get that far. Did I mention that I'm not a big fan of May. All 3 of my girls will not be allowed to get married in May- I can't handle anymore stuff going on in May!

Katie's birthday Party

We had Katie's 5th birthday party at Kid's Place. She doesn't turn 5 until May 20th but I wanted to make sure that they got their parties before the baby came. She invited Emma, Jenna, Avery and Adam. We kept it small so that it wouldn't be alot of work which turned out great because I'm on moderate bedrest now. She played so hard and she had the wildest hair. When I took her to the bathroom she asked me if she was 5 and I told her no, she then said but I want to be 5.

Mother/daughter Jazzercise class

Brooke and I took the girls to the Mother/Daughter jazzercise class this morning. I was put on bedrest so I couldn't do it. I hated not being in it this year but I did bring a chair and took lots of pictures. Jen wanted to go with us too. They had a great time and it was fun to see everyone move it.

Karissa's birthday party

Karissa wanted to have a sleepover and I also took her and the girls to get their nails done. They had a great time. I kept it low key so she invited her 2 best friends, Jillian and Jen.
We order pizza and I rented a movie, "Bedtime Stories." They went to bed around 11 and got up at 6:30. Thank goodness Jason had to work until 4:00 in the morning because the noise level in my house was LOUD!

On her birthday I took her to get a pedicure, just her and I. It was nice because I hardly ever get time with just her.

Karissa's 11th birthday present

Jason and I and my dad got Karissa an electric scooter. She wanted one at Christmas, but I held off until her birthday. She was so surprised and she LOVED it!

Karissa's piano recital

Karissa had her piano recital last weekend and her piece was called Jamaica Vacation and Mrs. Beth told her she could wear whatever she wanted. She did a really good job on her piece. It's hard to believe that she has been playing since she was 5 and she started reading music before she could identify her ABC's!!

Our Little girl is 11

It is so hard to believe that Rissy is 11. I remember being so scared when I found out that I was pregnant and I still am now that I have a middle schooler :)

I was induced on May 6th with no results and then finally she came into the world on May 7th at 10:30 p.m. It was a long two days. She was so small -she only weighed 5 lbs and 3 oz and 17 inches long, she was 5 weeks early.

She has been our most challeging child and I remember wanting to send her to live with my parents or sending her to a military school at the age of 4. Finally we had our reasons for the challenges when she got into 2nd grade- ADD. Now everything made sense and we could at least focus on having more patience with her because her behavior was not her fault.

Karissa has a good heart and is very compassionate towards other people. I remember a serman that Jon preached about giving Free Hugs and she leaned over to us and said I want to do that. It was out of my comfort zone but we all did it as a family and she made us proud! Also she gives her things away without a thought. This week her friend's bike broke and she gave Victoria her old bike-she could have sold it, but decided that she would rather give it away. When she gets treats at church she always gets Katie something too.

She tries so hard in school and that is a big challenge for her but so far she has made the A/B honor roll twice in a row this year. We are so proud of her.

It is so hard to believe that she starts middle school in August and I'm having a hard time letting go. I worry about her because she is so quiet and reserved. Last night I took her to the Rev- which is the middle school program at church-the blessing is that a friend from her class came up and grabbed her and off they went. I'm just going to have to keep praying that the right people "grab" her and help her get involved. I also found out that her life group leader is going to try and get the same group when they move up!!

We love you Karissa and Happy 11th Birthday!!

14 years ago today

Jason proposed 14 years ago today. It's so hard to believe that it's been that long ago. He was living in KY at the time and he met my family half way and picked me up so we could go back to Johnson Bible where we met. We were going to see my roommate graduate. He took me to where we had our first date and proposed inside the castle.

We've been back to the same location a few times and everytime we go by it when we're in Gatlinburg we show it to the girls!!

Also 11 years ago today I went to the hospital to be induced. Karissa didn't show up until the 7th though. I will blog about that later!!

Karissa and Katie's new dressers

My mom flew in yesterday morning and we picked up Katie from school and then we went out to eat. After that she surprised me with furniture shopping. We found them both dressers and I'm so excited. Right now with the way Jason's job is we wouldn't be able to get dressers and Katie really needed one because she has the baby's dresser and I want to put the baby's clothes in it. I only have 6 weeks to go before she gets here and really maybe less time because I always have my kids early. Her room is still not set up and Jason still has not decided on a name yet.

Karissa is excited because mom also got her a nightstand. She will be 11 on Thursday and you can tell she is growing up. Not always but most of the time :)
I will post pictures when I get their rooms set up.
