14 years ago today

Jason proposed 14 years ago today. It's so hard to believe that it's been that long ago. He was living in KY at the time and he met my family half way and picked me up so we could go back to Johnson Bible where we met. We were going to see my roommate graduate. He took me to where we had our first date and proposed inside the castle.

We've been back to the same location a few times and everytime we go by it when we're in Gatlinburg we show it to the girls!!

Also 11 years ago today I went to the hospital to be induced. Karissa didn't show up until the 7th though. I will blog about that later!!

Karissa and Katie's new dressers

My mom flew in yesterday morning and we picked up Katie from school and then we went out to eat. After that she surprised me with furniture shopping. We found them both dressers and I'm so excited. Right now with the way Jason's job is we wouldn't be able to get dressers and Katie really needed one because she has the baby's dresser and I want to put the baby's clothes in it. I only have 6 weeks to go before she gets here and really maybe less time because I always have my kids early. Her room is still not set up and Jason still has not decided on a name yet.

Karissa is excited because mom also got her a nightstand. She will be 11 on Thursday and you can tell she is growing up. Not always but most of the time :)
I will post pictures when I get their rooms set up.

Katie's Little Elks school program

Today we went to Katie's Little Elk's school program and it was so cute!! She was a dalmation and I'm biased but I thought it was the cutest outfit ever. She had to jump through a hula hoop and then she showed off her hula hoop skills. I know she had been practicing but I had no idea she was pretty good at it!! I don't have any pictures because my camera's batteries started to act up and so my camera won't work. I figured out the problem right when her song ended. I am still upset about it. I hate when I miss a camera moment!

Bird watching

Karissa spotted this Golden Finch in our front yard yesterday morning and she was so excited. I have to say it is a very beautiful bird and we watched it for a while until she had to go meet the bus. Karissa has always been obsessed with birds and my mom got her a bird book when she was 4 and she still carries with her to check out all the birds.

Entrepreneur Fair

Karissa had her Entrepreneur fair on April 16th and she did pretty well. She made all of her beadettes by herself ( I think I only made 5 out of the 36). I was so proud of her for doing it by herself- it took alot of hard work. As you can see in the sign she kept changing the price of them and she wouldn't listen to me and so I got her teacher Mrs. Coy to talk to her. After that she changed it back but because she wasn't about making money (which is good-at times) she didn't make a profit. She had a great time that night!

baby shower

My good friends/neighbors, Kristy, Heather, Tracy and Brenda gave me a shower yesterday. I got alot of neat stuff that I needed. My life group got me a Jeep stroller which I really needed and an ear thermometer. When the girls were sick the only way I could take their temp. was under the armpit so I'm really exciting about this one. I also got a swimsuit for baby K because as soon as I'm able we'll be back at the pool!!
Mary made a really pretty afghan for the baby and Krista got her two outfits and sent them up with Mary. Jason took Karissa shopping and she picked out an outfit for the baby too. I thought that since she is almost 11 (in 3 more weeks) she could come to the shower if she wanted too. She's already told me that she only wants to have one baby (she may change her mind, she says) and then she is going to adopt. She is scare of pain!!
I am truely blessed- I have a great family and friends!! I love you all.
When Karissa and I were at the shower Jason took Katie to the petstore (she loves that place, both of my girls do!) for some one on one time. He doesn't get alot of time with her so it was good for both of them. Then they came home and watched Scooby Doo 2- did I mention that that is her favorite movie?!!!!

Update on Katie's arm

Mary and I went to the Dr yesterday to get Katie's cast off and do more x-rays. Mary had to take her in for the x-rays and she said that she cried again and when she came out she was still a mess. I was so afraid that it didn't heal because she kept saying it hurt and she wanted the cast back on.

We talked to the Dr and saw the x-rays and she is fine!! After we got home she laid on the couch with a pillow and wouldn't use her arm alot. But then I went to Bunco and Mary came over to sit with the girls and she said as the night went on she was using it more. She keeps telling me that her arm is like a magnet and the only thing I can think of is that it's stiff.
She doesn't have school today so she's just going to rest and right now she is watching Scooby Doo 2- which she has memorized!
